Bauer’s latest and greatest in the Nexus skate lineup comes in the 1N skate, which features a classic fit, Bauer’s deepest and widest fit profile. This profile offers a wide volume fit from toe to heel and features the deepest heel pocket from Bauer to date. With the 3-D lasted Curv composite composing the upper, the 1N will provide a more comfortable, responsive, and anatomically correct fit.

The combination of that classic fit profile providing a traditional “Deep-V” heel shape, and an anatomically molded upper, results in a boot that provides a comfortable, secure heel lock, while allowing for better wrap along the top of the foot. These fit characteristics, working alongside the unmatched heat molding properties of Bauer’s Curv® composite upper, amount to a boot that is comfortable right out of the box, and is very accommodating to players with higher volume feet.

New to the Nexus lineup is the Injected Stability Lacing System found on both the Vapor 1X and Supreme 1S. This is an innovative, one-piece construction that maximizes energy return and provides explosive energy transfer with each stride while also increasing the stability throughout the life of the boot. Another benefit of this addition is that it provides a better wrap over the foot, and it features a lace locking configuration to keep laces from slipping during play.

Making another Nexus debut is going to be Bauer’s Speed Plate technology. The Speed Plate is a heat moldable footbed that features recovery alloy technology, which basically means it can be heat molded repeatedly and will either form to a customized fit or return to its original form. When this footbed is customized to your foot, it essentially marries the shape of your foot to the skate and puts the center of pressure more over the blade, which allows for better balance, control and performance.

The Form Fit Lite, ultra-thick, pro felt tongue is a stout 52 oz. and features a Curv composite metatarsal guard, providing comfort and protection whether you’re blocking shots or preventing lace bite. Bauer’s 37.5 liner, with integrated abrasion resistant padding, is the ultimate in terms of moisture wicking properties and feel; this liner dries up to 5 times faster than other fabrics using your own body heat to evaporate sweat inside the boot and enhance overall control and performance. Add Bauer’s Total Edge Control, which alleviates abrasion when digging into tight turns, and you have a complete package of comfort and performance.

The Tuuk Lightspeed Edge holder has established itself as a game changer, and makes its return in the 1N. This holder not only provides an added three millimeters of height, allowing for a more aggressive angle of attack, but also allows players to switch out the LS4 steel runners (found on the Nexus 1N) on the fly.
