The most important factor in choosing a shoulder pad is no doubt going to be the fit, as it is with all pieces of equipment. Warrior has designed their Dynasty series to be a more anatomical or “tailored” fit to your body, they call this Axy-Sym fit. This was used in their previous Dynasty models and promotes great mobility without sacrificing protection. Besides using lightweight foams, a unique strapping system called 2-Timer features heavy duty velcro straps that are adjustable from the front and back sides to give you the most desirable fit.

With the protection aspect of the pad it all starts with the caps. The HD3’s feature a multi-layered design including a comfort liner and a molded plastic cap all topped with a layer of mid density foam. The sternum guard is composed of mid density foam and is “floating” to help increase your mobility and dexterity while still protecting incredibly important vitals in the body. Mid density foams can be found throughout this pad, including the spine guard and kidney guards. The bicep guards are also made with mid density foams and large plastic reinforcements and are height adjustable. Meanwhile, the entire performance jacket (the base of the shoulder pad) is made of very lightweight single density foam.
